”PEPPI” dob 15.04.2007
Peppi is the newcomer in the family and is placed to our family under breeding terms from kennel Great Bernina’s Anne-Mari Suoniemi. She is the happiest dog of all and loves everybody showing her love by giving kisses all over your face. She also knows how to make the best of being lazy and likes to sleep on your lap or in your neck. In the mornings she is usually the last one to crawl out from under the blanket. She is the only one of our dogs that has arrived to our family after the birth of our children and she often seeks out to their room to watch them play. She also considers it natural for the children to pet and tease her while our other dogs try to keep their distance.
Peppi started her show career practising in the puppy class and at her fist official dog show in Turku 27.01.2008 she received her first cert as a junior class participant. Peppi enjoys travelling with me around and is her happy self in all the places – even in the ring!

"VEERA" dob 17.06.2005
Veera came to us also placed under breeding terms but is now owned by me after making puppies for her breeder. She lives with my sister and her husband as their princess, if you don’t count the cat in the house. Veera loves to play and ride in the car - Peppi and Alma often go to my sisters to play with Veera and she also has her on granny with a cottage in the country. She is a bit reserved when it comes to strangers but on the other hand she has also shown herself to be adaptable and very brave. She loves her mom and dad more than anything.
Veera has been in a couple of dog shows but at the moment her show career has been an ice since the Finnish Toy Dog Associations special show 2005. There she got a “not able to judge” from junior class. The judge mentioned that her basic disposition is good, but the dog is spoiled rotten. We’ll admit to that…. but really you can not find a kinder dog! So Veera is nowadays focused on being the best dog she can be around friends and family!

”CAPU” dob 28.01.1998
Capu is my 10 years old head of our flock who is very aware of his position. He also is my first ETT. In his younger years Capu was a real rascal but do not let his age confuse you – he still kind off is! He was castrated at the age of three which had little effect on his personality. Capu has always been a bold and brave dog, even a bit stubborn at times. Nonetheless he has gracefully made his way through new and frightening situations and has set an example to our younger dogs.
Because of his size Capu never did have much of a dog show career, but he still played a big part in training me to act right in the ring. We practised a lot and hade fun travelling together. Even today when training my younger dogs Capu is the first to jump up to the table in hope of getting some treats. No lessons were clearly wasted with this one!
Capu has always been a very healthy dog – the vet has been needed only for vaccinations and for cleaning his teeth. Capu has had a few accidents during summers in our summer cottage involving a fishing hook and a sharp rock, but we got through these injuries without going to the vet. Fall 2006 Capu had his first official eye-check ant HC was discovered. However Capu is one of the lucky ones that the cataract has not yet been a problem for. If you did not know he has it, you probably would not guess it either because he still keeps on going around and about.

”TANE” dob 02.05.1999
Tane is Capus nephew and has earned a nickname ”ADHD” because of his hyperactive behaviour. When he is exited the whole dog wobbles from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail. Guests are always welcomed and cause Tane to get into hyper-mode. Otherwise Tane is the one that goes about things his own way and he loves to just sniff around and go where his nose is leading him. You could summarize Tanes motto somewhat like “ Let the others run after the ball”.
Tane turned out to grow quite tall, but we took him to a few dog shows anyway. In these shows he was on his best behaviour and gave some confidence also to me in the other end of the leach.
As a puppy Tane had a few health problems and he has always been very slim as well. He was castrated at the age of 1,5 years and we hoped this would make him gain some weight but had no such luck.
At the same time with Capu, Tane was also diagnosed with HC. Unfortunately for Tane this means most likely that he is going to get totally blind some day. So far he has been going on as usual and we have been able to avoid any potencial problems related to HC ( running rght at something etc.). It seems that eaven dogs do not grow old alone – one year ago Tane also started having some problems with his back and urinating. Regardless of the problems he still is the same grazy character he has always been and we are looking forward to having him around still for as many years as possible.

”ALMA” dob 03.05.1999

Alma is the daughter of Capu´s other sister Twinstripe Proud Mary and she came to our family at a young age, even though she at first stayed with her breeder. She instantly took over control among our dogs but has still managed to stay real gentle and playful.
Despite her age she still keeps on going strong but she should go on a diet after gaining some weight as a result of spading.
Alma loves to run around after any kind of balls and in the woods and she has a unique bark that welcomes guests to our home or tells us when she is feeling extremely happy.
Alma also is a real veteran in dog shows- we have travelled together in shows all around Finland, Sweden and Norway. One time the judge decided to measure her on the table and that gave Alma quite a shock. The result of this was that she no longer is a big fan of the judging table but otherwise she still is doing well in the veteran ring.
At present we have been taking a break from shows, but most likely you will see us in the ring sometime in the future.
Health wise everything has so far been okay with Alma, no mentionable problems.

”TOLLY” dob 14.01.1998

I bought Tolly together with Marja Huttunen in fall 2000 from Great-Britain’s famous Reeberrich-kennel, owner Mr. John Richardson. The phrase “big dog in a small package” proved to bee right when it comes to Tolly and I was surprised how well he settled in at our house and became my shadow. He also is very energetic and personal little fellow. Capu still was the alpha male; Tolly just thought that he was in charge. He soon did take all the bitches under his wing, since he was the only uncastrated male in the house. At spring 2007 Tolly moved to my mother’s house for his well earned retirement days just 5 km from our place.
Tolly also has gone to hundreds of dog shows touring all around the Nordic countries. We also paid a visit to Crufts 2003, whish was a wonderful experience. It was nice to see that there were a lot of English toy terriers in that show (in Finland there might only be 4-10 dogs in a show). And I was surprised to find out that the type and size of the breed varies a lot also in the home country of this breed. Tolly's final dog show was the Winner show-05.
When he came to us he already had quite bad teeth and despite our efforts to tend to his mouth, most of his teeth had to be removed during the years. He looks pretty funny when he is growling at a fellow dog and trying to show his teeth since there is none in the front and his tongue just keeps popping out =).
He also has had some problems with his annals and a while back our vet found out that his prostate is also gotten a bit large. At spring 2006 he was diagnosed with HC.
Our little Sir seems to be getting smaller and smaller by age, but it has not slowed him down at all!

”VIIVI” dob 11.04.2004

Viivi was born to Alma’s last litter in April 2004 as a waited bitch to continue this family line. At the time I was studying in Kalmar, Sweden so I had the pleasure to be part of her life since the very beginning. At summer 2004 I moved back to Finland with Viivi and I share the ownership of her with my sister, Sari. Just like her mom, Alma, Viivi also has two homes. She is bitch with a temper and has dedicated herself fully to all her litters. When there are no youngsters running around at her feet she is crazy about any toys she can find. At present she has permanently moved to live with us because she just can’t get along with my sisters other bitch, Khanbull´s Hope of Ray, Veera. We tried to give it some time but since the situation did not seem to improve at all we decided that it was time for Viivi to move to our home permanently. Now Veera can enjoy herself as the princess of her family and Viivi is learning how to get along with his mother and other dogs of ours.
Viivi´s show career started with great promise and I honestly think that she could do very well, but a lot of practise is needed in order for her to learn how to perform in the ring. She just doesn’t feel at home in the ring. I am hoping that we will some day visit the ring again, but at the moment we are taking baby steps and Viivi is setting the pace.
AS a puppy she hand a skin infection, but luckily that was a one time thing. After puppies she has been bothered with an ear infection. But other then that she has proved to be a very healthy dog.
